We test and install backflow devices to help keep your water supply safe from contamination.
At JAC's Plumbing, we help homeowners and light commercial property owners protect their clean water with professional backflow prevention service in Denver and across the Denver metro area. Backflow prevention is one of those plumbing services most people do not think about until there is a problem, but it plays a big role in keeping your drinking water safe. When water pressure changes in the plumbing system, contaminated water can flow the wrong direction and get pulled back into the clean water supply. A properly installed and tested backflow prevention device helps stop that from happening.
We have been serving the Denver area since 2012, and with 13 years of hands-on experience, we know how important it is to do this work the right way. Our team handles backflow prevention with clear communication, careful workmanship, and upfront, flat-rate pricing. Whether you need a new backflow preventer installed, an existing device tested, or help figuring out why your system is not passing inspection, we are here to help.
Backflow prevention protects your potable water from contamination caused by backpressure or backsiphonage. In simple terms, it keeps dirty water, chemicals, irrigation water, boiler water, or other unsafe water sources from reversing direction and entering the main water line for your property. This protection is important for homes, rental properties, restaurants, small commercial buildings, irrigation systems, and anywhere cross-connections may exist between clean and non-potable water.
Backflow incidents can happen when there is a sudden drop in water pressure due to a water main break, high demand on the municipal system, fire hydrant use, or plumbing issues inside the property. Without the right valve assembly in place, this pressure change can allow contaminants to move into the clean water system. That is why routine backflow testing and proper installation matter.
We provide complete backflow prevention service based on the needs of the property and the device already in place. Our work may include:
If you are not sure what type of backflow assembly you have or whether your property needs one, we can inspect the system and explain your options in plain language. We believe customers should understand what they are paying for and why the work matters.
There are a few common signs and situations that tell you it is time to schedule service. You may need backflow testing, repair, or replacement if:
Even if there are no obvious symptoms, a backflow prevention device should be checked on schedule. These assemblies are mechanical devices, and like any plumbing component, they can wear out over time.
We keep the process simple and straightforward. First, we evaluate the existing plumbing setup and identify the backflow prevention device, if one is already installed. We check the condition of the assembly, look for signs of wear or failure, and determine whether testing, repair, or replacement is the best next step. If a new installation is needed, we make sure the device is correctly sized and properly placed for safe, code-compliant performance.
Our team takes time to explain what we find, answer your questions, and give you clear recommendations. We are known for high-quality communication and service, and that matters on jobs like this where the average customer may not be familiar with local requirements, valve types, or testing standards. You will know what work is needed before we begin, and we provide upfront, flat-rate pricing so there are no surprises.
Backflow prevention is not just about checking a box for compliance. It is about protecting health, preventing contamination, and reducing the risk of serious water quality problems. A device that is installed incorrectly, placed in the wrong location, or not maintained can fail when it is needed most. Professional installation and routine testing help confirm that the assembly will operate as designed during pressure changes and real-world plumbing conditions.
For property owners, this service can also help avoid failed inspections, water system violations, and the stress of preventable plumbing issues. If a device is aging or damaged, replacing it before it fully fails is often the smarter and safer option.
We serve residential and light commercial customers throughout the Denver metro area. Different properties have different water use demands, plumbing layouts, and code requirements, so we do not treat backflow prevention like a one-size-fits-all service. We look at how the property is set up, what equipment is connected to the water line, and what level of protection is needed. That practical approach helps us recommend the right solution without overselling.
Because we are a small team of three, our customers get personal service and direct communication. We take pride in doing solid plumbing work and treating customers with respect. We also offer emergency plumbing service when scheduling allows, and while backflow issues are often caught during routine testing, we are available to help when urgent water safety or valve problems come up.
When you hire us for backflow prevention, you are working with a local Denver plumbing company that has been in business since 2012. We bring 13 years of hands-on experience, a strong reputation for communication, and a practical approach to solving plumbing problems. We do not push services you do not need. We inspect the system, explain the issue clearly, and complete the work with care.
Many customers call us for complex plumbing needs because they know we handle important water-related systems the right way. In addition to backflow prevention, we also work on water heaters, drain cleaning, and sewer and water line replacements. That broader plumbing knowledge helps us spot related issues that can affect system safety and performance.
If you need backflow preventer installation, testing, replacement, or help understanding a notice or inspection requirement, JAC's Plumbing is ready to help. We proudly serve Denver and the surrounding metro area with honest recommendations, quality workmanship, and upfront pricing. Call us at (720) 742-5227 or reach out through our website form to schedule service. We will help you protect your water supply and make sure your plumbing system is working safely.
We start with a quick call, then schedule an on-site inspection to check your plumbing system, hazard level, and existing backflow assembly. We explain local testing or installation requirements, answer questions in plain language, and give you an upfront flat-rate quote before any work begins.
Once approved, we perform certified backflow testing or install the proper prevention device to protect your potable water supply from cross-connection contamination. Our small, experienced team works cleanly, follows code, and completes most appointments in a single visit when site conditions allow.
After service, we verify proper operation, review the test results with you, and make sure you understand how your system is protected. If paperwork or routine follow-up is needed, we walk you through it clearly so compliance and future maintenance stay easy.

Jeff spend an hour going over Every that needed to be done, that should have been done and only charged me inspection fee. Wonderfuman and did not mansplain anything. "Glad I came across Jac's Plumbing. I had gotten a free estimate for a new water heater from another company that just didn't seem right. When I spoke with Jac's they let me know upfront about the trip charge for an estimate if I did not end up using their services, which seemed very reasonable and logical to me. Sure enough, their estimate was much more down to earth, and I had them do the work. All appears good. They seem like a well-run organization."

"Jeff from JAC's Plumbing was absolutely fantastic! He was kind, patient, and explained everything clearly. He quoted me half of what a previous big-box company wanted and did excellent work. He was prompt, respectful of my space, and you can tell he truly cares. Down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and reliable! Jeff is the only plumber I’ll be calling moving forward! UPDATE - 4/9/26 I’ve now had Jeff and one of his employees, Anthony, back at my house several times since my original review, and they continue to go above and beyond every single time. They’ve handled everything from re-plumbing an entire bathroom remodel, to trimming out a Delta shower system, repairing a main stack drain, and even catching mold that the mold mitigation company completely missed. That alone says a lot about their attention to detail and level of care. Jeff and Anthony are both incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and easy to work with. They take the time to explain what’s going on, do the job right, and make sure everything is solid before they leave. At this point, I don’t even consider calling anyone else. Jeff and his team are my go-to for anything plumbing-related, and I recommend them without hesitation."
"I’ve had a great experience using JAC’s Plumbing for all my plumbing needs, big or small. Whether you’re a homeowner or a property management company, I highly recommend them. They’re quick, reliable, and consistently deliver quality service."

"I had a water heater that needed quick attention. It was hard to access and their schedule was full. But they were willing and able to get it taken care of within 48 hours. JAC's was super responsive and clear with expectations. I'm super pleased I called them first!"
"Look no further. You found the best plumber in Broomfield. Why do I think that? Because I called Jeff to replace a water supply valve for my refrigerator, but he said I didn’t need to. Instead, he suggested I get a wireless water leak detector system and to call him when I really do need the valve replaced. He easily could have told me that I did needed to replace the valve, done the work and made some money. But, he didn’t. He was honest!"
"I hired JACs Plumbing on a recommendation from another plumber to remove all my original galvanized piping/drain lines. Jeff and Abraham were professional and got a difficult job done. They communicate well, kept me updated on scheduling, educated me on how it all worked. They are professionals. Hire them!"
"Jeff came over to check our hot water heater and gave us a lot of helpful information."
"Run, don’t walk to use JAC’s Plumbing. Best in the Colorado front range!"
"This was the second time I have used JAC's. The first was last January when I noticed a leak on the sewer pipe in the utility room. I called and Jeff came out and checked. It was the worst you could imagine. Jeff had to replace the sewer stack and related plumbing. He replace the pipes from the bathroom upstairs, the plumbing to the kitchen sink and the bathroom sink. He was here for hours, polite and informative the entire time. He did a great and professional job and was fair in pricing. I just had him back to finish the supply pipes to bathroom sink. I added on replacing the outdoor faucet. Jeff suggested we replace the faucet for the water main due to corrosion, we agreed. The pipes are 62 years old. We are so glad we did. Again Jeff was polite, professional and we believe very fair. Would we recommend or use JAC's again? In a heartbeat, very pleased."
